This month we’re holding our first ever Benefice Quiet Day at Wolfhampcote Church on Monday 21st August 10am-4pm.
The aim of the day is to create an opportunity for us all to take time out to rest, relax and be. We’ll start at 10am with a simple said service or morning prayer and we will finish the day at 3.45ish with a simple said service of evening prayer.
In between those times you are invited to simply spend time doing something relaxing. That may be
· Reading a book (please bring one with you)
· Doing some sketching or painting (please bring equipment with you)
· Sewing or Knitting (again you’ll need to bring it with you)
· Going for a walk around the church and immediate area
· Listening to music (please bring headphones and a device to listen on)
· Something else entirely
It’s not a ‘silent’ retreat so if chatting with friends is how you relax then please find a quiet corner of the church/church yard where you can chat away without disturbing those who came for quiet.
It really is your day away from Wi-Fi and the hustle and bustle of everyday life to do with as you please. There is no running water or electricity in Wolfhampcote, but there is a toilet. Please note we will be able to supply drinks and biscuits, but you will need to bring a packed lunch with you as we can’t offer catering.
There’s no charge for this event and there is no need to pre-book, but if you are planning to come if you could drop Phil an e-mail (revphilprice@outlook.com) that would be really helpful for planning purposes.
